UNLIKELY PAIR.......

 

 

I am having trouble getting in the groove as they say, "KIMMIE" Hosted a challenge on her blog last week. Check her out...............her work is fabulous! I was late BUT I did finish.........LOL. Next week is her blog Anniversary, her Birthday AND possibly hitting 100,000. WOWZERS.......could be a celebration there!

Back to my card! I dug in my "for sale basket" to see what I had for animals......That was the challenge! Stamp set used here is "Cattitude" from Stampin'Up. The salutation is Holidays & Wishes fond on page 143 of Stampin'Up Spring and Summer 2008 Catalog.

The DP is from a large pad of papers found at Costco. Card Stock is Natural Ivory, Bashful Blue and Purely Pomegrante Textured; all from SU. Images were colored using Prisma colored pencils and blended using mineral spirits. Pink blush highlights were applied using SU chalks. I used Gold Stickles to highlight the hearts in the DP. The scalloped circles were cut using the round "Nestabilities". Fishie charm is "Treasured Memories". Ribbon used is American Crafts Elements.

I have to admit a challenge does git me movin'...............LOL..............if only I moved faster.........lol.

A skirt for Christmas.....

   Oh where, oh where did she go? Here I am........at long last. The last 4 weeks have been rather busy. I have not been making cards as you can see........LOL.

The local church group wants to get together and make a Christmas Tree Skirt at the end of the month. They need a sample as well as a leader.

I fell in love with this skirt over 10 years ago when a friend of mine had made it with a group of women in her community. I dialed her number and asked her to send me the pattern. (Thanks Shirley! and Sharon too!)

I am not sure if you can visualize the size of it or not. Each heart is 16 x 18 inches. The finished skirt measures 45 inches across. It is a great way to use fabric scraps...........HA! Most of the fabrics were bought 2 weeks ago at great "after Christmas sales". I love the combo of velvets, satins and metallics. If you look to the back of the skirt, you will see that I am NOT the only one that likes it. She helped with the sewing process as well.

I am going to start another one from my stash of Christmas cotton prints.

I WILL go to my paper craft table soon..........I promise.
